Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
The Jr. Blues are looking back to the three game set versus the Janesville Jets as they went 1-4 on there latest road trip. The team dropped both games in Johnstown before winning on last Saturday night versus Coulee Region to save the split.
Be sure to bring your canned food to the any and all Jr. Blues games versus the Jets and save $1/can up to $4 for adults and $3 for kids on our walk-up ticket prices. All the food will be donated to the Central Illinois Foodbank where current Jr. Blues are regular volunteers.
Jr. Blue to Host Janesville Jets
The Jr. Blues play Friday and Saturday night versus the Janesville Jets. In addition, the team will play a Wednesday night game versus the same Janesville Jets at 7:05. This is the beginning of eight regular season games against the Jets. Last year, the Jr. Blues won the series 3-1-0 and eliminate the Jets from the playoffs on the last night of the regular season. In addition, the Janesville Jets Head Coach is familiar to the Jr. Blues faithful as he was on the Jr. Blues staff including Head Coach and GM before taking over for the Jets.
Jr. Blues Earn Split with Coulee Region
Max Kalter Win 4-1 on Saturday Night
The Jr. Blues struggled again on Friday night, dropping the contest 5-1 to the Chill. It was their 4th straight loss. However the bright spot for the Blues was outshooting the Chill 54-41 for the game including 23-8 in the 3rd period.
The Jr. Blues would build off the Friday night 3rd period into Saturday night's game. Again outshooting the Chill 44-41. The Jr. Blues got goals from Ji Li, Patrick Curry, Kevin Shand, and Joe Carney in the 4-1 win.
Stefanos Lekkas played both games stopping 76 of 82 shots on the weekend.
Tomahawks too Much For Jr. Blues
Johnstown scores 4 in 3rd to Earn Sweep
The Tomahawks were too much for the Jr. Blues to handle on Friday night as they outshot the Jr. Blues 30-21 in the 5-1 loss. Johnstown scored 5 unanswered goals before Mike Severson scored a a late power-play goal to prevent the shutout.
On Saturday night the Tomahawks scored an early goal on a Jr. Blues turnover. The Jr. Blues came back with three straight 2nd period goals of there own leading 3-2 going into the 3rd period. However the Jr. Blues could not hold onto the lead and lost 6-5. Five different Jr. Blues scored in the loss.

Coach Zasowski Hosts weekly Coaches Show
The Jr. Blues have once again partnered with Neuhoff Media to spotlight the team and keep fans informed of team doings.
Bondsy's Hockey Stool : The Jr. Blues will do a featured player of the week that will visit Kiss FM's Morning show every Wednesday of home weekends at 8:30 am. The show will Feature Coach Tony Zasowski and a Select Jr. Blue including a 10 question rapid fire by Bondsy.
Behind the Bench with Coach Zow
This is a new 15 minute radio segment where Host Andrew Harby and Coach Tony Zasowski will talk in depth about the Jr. Blues.
