
Suns Opening Homestand next week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â The Jacksonville Suns are set to begin its sophomore campaign at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville next week. The team will play an exhibition game against the North Florida Osprey's on Tuesday, April 6 before kicking off the Southern League Season against the Tennessee Smokies on April 8.
The opening homestand is highlighted by a number of great promotions. Opening Night is Thursday, April 8 at 7:05 p.m. All fans will receive a free magnet schedule of the 2004 Suns season from State Farm Agent Therese Quinn, First Coast News 12 & 25 and WQIK.
The Suns annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place before the game on Friday, April 9, sponsored by Dixie Egg, WB17 and Cool 96.9FM. All kids 14 and under will be able to participate and every child is guaranteed to get an egg! The gates will open at 5:30 with the hunt starting at 6:30. Game time is 7:35 with the first of ten NAPA Friday Family Fireworks shows after the game!
On Saturday night, April 10, all kids in attendance will get a free pair of Cheerstix noisemakers, courtesy of Powerade, Fox 30 WAWS and V101.5. Game time for Saturday is 7:05 p.m. Easter Sunday will be Family Photo Day on the field, sponsored by Polaroid and Lite 96.1. Fans will be invited on the field before the game to take pictures with their favorite players from the team. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. and the first pitch will be at 3:05 p.m. Plus, Kids Run the Bases after the game, sponsored by Solantic.
The Suns welcome the Greenville Braves to town on Monday and the rest of the week welcomes back some favorite promotions. Monday will be the first Comcast Cable Bill Monday and Baseball Bingo Night of the year. Tuesday night is Fifty-cent Family Feast Night where hot dogs, ice cream treats and peanuts are just 50 cents all night, sponsored by Oscar Mayer, Hampton Farms, Folio Weekly and KISS FM. The Suns opening homestand wraps up on Wednesday with the first Businessperson's Special of the year, with a special day game time of 1:05 p.m. After the game, Edward Waters will host Savannah State in a special doubleheader game, sponsored by The Beat 92.1.
Tickets for the Suns entire opening homestand and all season long are currently available by calling the Suns ticket office at 358-2846 or by ordering online at www.jaxsuns.com. Season tickets, group nights and limited sponsorships are still available.
April 6 - 7:05pm Exhibition Game â Suns vs. University of North Florida Ospreys. Tickets available through the UNF Ticket Office. All ticket proceeds to benefit the UNF Baseball program.

April 9 - 7:35pm GIANT Easter Egg Hunt â All kids 12 and under are invited on the field before the game to participate in a special Easter Egg Hunt! Lots of prizes and candy to be found. Gates open at 5:30, Egg Hunt starts at 6:30. Sponsored by Dixie Egg, WB17 and Cool 96.9. After the game, Friday Family Fireworks, courtesy of NAPA Auto Parts and your local NAPA Autocare Center Dealers.
