Diamond Jaxx To Host Memphis Redbirds in Exhibition Game

This coming Tuesday, April 6th, the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx will host an exhibition game at Pringles Park against the Memphis Redbirds, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The game will coincide with the 2nd Annual Jackson Chamber of Commerce First Pitch Reception at Pringles Park. The private Chamber Reception will begin at 4:30p.m. under the First Tennessee Picnic Pavilion, while the game will commence at 6:05p.m.

The storied rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals is not just felt in Chicago and St. Louis, but now more than ever, it is prevalent in West Tennessee as well. With both teams having organizational ties along with a strong and continually growing fan base in West Tennessee, the game on April 6th is sure to be a treat for any baseball fan to be a part of. Jeff Parker, the Diamond Jaxx General Manager notes, "The Cubs and Cardinals rivalry is one of the strongest in baseball and we look forward to bringing the future of that rivalry to Pringles Park."

Before the exhibition game, the Diamond Jaxx and the Jackson Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to offer fans the opportunity to meet and greet the 2004 Diamond Jaxx players, be a part of a Diamond Jaxx autograph session, and enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet. The buffet will feature hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, baked beans, chips, cookies, brownies, and soda or lemonade. Those individuals who already have a ticket to the game can purchase a ticket for the private Chamber Reception for only $11. For $15, fans will receive a ticket to the game in addition to admission to the Reception

Tickets to the game with the Redbirds are still available with prices ranging from $4 for a general admission ticket to $8 for a field box seat (excluding taxes and fees). Any current season ticket and mini game plan holders will receive a complimentary ticket to the ballgame. Moreover, any fan that purchases season tickets or mini plans prior to April 6th will also receive a complimentary ticket to the game. *Diamond Jaxx Announce a New Affordable Way to See All Home Games*

The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, the Double-A Southern League affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, are unveiling a Community Card Season Ticket for the 2004 season. The Community Card serves a dual purpose as it can be used as a General Admission Season Ticket to exciting Diamond Jaxx baseball as well as a ticket to great offers and savings from various businesses throughout the West Tennessee region.

The $200 purchase price will give holders a ticket to every game at Pringles Park during the course of the 2004 season for only $2.86 per game. The front of the Community Card is a ticket to every exciting game at Pringles Park. The back of the Community Card is a coupon featuring local businesses providing special offers and discounts. This card is transferable and the special offers found on the back of the Community Card will be good until September 15, 2004. The Community Card will also offer holders the opportunity to upgrade their seats based on availability for any game during the 2004 season as well.

*Diamond Jaxx Unveil the 2004 Promotional Calendar*

The West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx are proud to announce an exciting line-up of promotions, entertainment, and giveaways throughout the 2004 season. Included in this line-up are six firework spectaculars. Always a fan favorite, the first fireworks show will be held on April 17. As an added bonus, the first 1,000 fans to enter Pringles Park that night will also receive a free Diamond Jaxx magnetic schedule. Other great giveaways already planned to be distributed during the 2004 season include Diamond Jaxx caps, backpacks, replica jerseys, Louisville Slugger bats, and, of course, bobbleheads.

In early February, Diamond Jaxx fans were given the opportunity to vote for which Chicago Cubs stars they wanted for two of the bobblehead giveaways scheduled for the 2004 season. As a result, Kerry Wood and Mark Prior bobbleheads will be distributed on May 28 and August 27, respectively. In addition, on June 12, the first 1,000 Diamond Jaxx fans to enter Pringles Park will take home a Sammy Sosa "Pumpin' Iron" bobblehead and later that month, on June 25, Greg Maddux bobbleheads will be given out at Pringles Park.

Weekly specials at Pringles Park include For the Glove of the Game, Two For Tuesday, Thirsty Thursday, Ball Launch, and Throw For Dough. Every Sunday, with the For the Glove of the Game program, fans will receive free admission to the game with the donation of a baseball glove. The baseball gloves will then be given to underprivileged youth in the West Tennessee area. On Tuesday home games, Diamond Jaxx fans will receive two (2) tickets, popcorns, or hot dogs for the price of one (1). Diamond Jaxx fans who purchase one (1) 20-oz. Pepsi or one (1) 16-oz. Beer at Thursday games at Pringles Park, will receive another one (1) at no extra cost. In an announcement made by General Manager Jeff Parker, the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx have come to terms on a deal that will make Tennessee Country 97.7 FM, WTNE the official radio home of the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx for the second straight season.

Gibson County Broadcasting General Manager Sherry Vaughn is very happy with the new deal. "We are very excited about starting our second season as the flagship station for the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx on Tennessee Country 97.7 FM. The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx organization is a class act and the kind of wholesome entertainment we take pride in bringing to our radio audience. Tennessee Country 97.7 FM, WTNE can be heard throughout West Tennessee, parts of western Kentucky and southeastern Missouri. On March 21st, WTNE raised its power from 25,000 to 50,000 watts, giving the fans a much stronger radio signal.
