Sundogs Trade Chris Greene to Wichita for Tyler Liebel

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Central Hockey League's Southwest Division-leading Arizona Sundogs announced today it has traded center Chris Greene to the Wichita Thunder in exchange for forward Tyler Liebel.
Greene, 22, spent all of last season with Arizona, collecting five goals, 20 assists and 182 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound forward has appeared in 28 games for the Sundogs this season, registering three goals and 18 assists for a combined 21 points while racking up 27 penalty minutes.
"It's tough to have to see Chris go," said Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. "A player with the character and work ethic of Chris is always a benefit to have around. At the end of the day, it is our top priority to provide our fans with the best product on the ice and to put ourselves in position to win the last game of the season. With this roster move, that is what we're doing. We wish Chris the best of luck and thank him for what he has brought to our club in the last two seasons," added Pietroniro.
Tyler Liebel, 25, spent the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons with the Wichita Thunder before playing in the ECHL in 2006-07. In 25 games this season in his return to the CHL and the Thunder, the Osoyoos, British Columbia native has tallied five goals, six assists and 79 penalty minutes.
"Tyler has been an offensive anchor in Wichita during his two-plus seasons with the Thunder," said Pietroniro. "We're eager to get him in the lineup as we prepare for our upcoming five-game road trip."
The Sundogs (19-8-2) face off Friday night at 7:15pm (Arizona time) at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico against Southwest Division foe the New Mexico Scorpions. Tune in to 96.7 FM The Wolf, the Official Broadcast Home of the Arizona Sundogs.
