Odessa's Alexandre Vincent Wins Performance of the Week

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Odessa goaltender Alexandre Vincent is the recipient of week 10's Performance of the Week for his back-to-back shutouts on December 20th and 21st. The rookie netminder made 60 saves in the two victories and was named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for his efforts. The Drummonville, Quebec native came just 36 seconds from recording three straight shutouts settling for a 179:24 scoreless streak, the fourth longest in CHL history.

Vincent received 40% of the votes (4766 votes) winning rather comfortably over Wichita's win at Rocky Mountain (29% of the votes) and Arizona's Olivier Latendresse recording a hat trick in the 8-1 victory over Rio Grande Valley on December 23rd. Close to 12,000 fans voted in the poll. Vincent will be automatically considered for the 2007-08 CHL Performance of the Year which will be announced in April, 2008.

The rookie is 8-2-4 on the season with a 1.98 goals against average (third in the CHL) and a .939 save percentage (tops in the league). Last week, Vincent was named to the Southern Conference All-Star team and will play in the 2008 CHL All-Star Game scheduled for Wednesday, January 16th in Broomfield, Colorado.

Jeff Bes' (LAR) hat trick in 6-5 SO win at Arizona, 12/29

Austin's four-goal third period in 6-3 win at Wichita, 12/28
