
Sundogs Drop Game against Brahmas, 4-3

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs drop their game against the Ft. Worth Brahmas with a 4-3 loss at the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday night. The Sundogs earn a point in the shootout and Kevin Baker continues his goal streak with three games.
The Ft. Worth Brahmas struck first with a power play goal 6:11 into the first period after Adam Hogg scored with a wrister from the left wing. The Sundogs gave up three power plays in the first 20 minutes after Matt McCready, Jeff Kyrzakos and Johan Ryd were all issued, two minute minor penalties. Arizona would enter the second period on a 1:43 power play after the Brahmas' Taylor McReynolds was called for holding.
Arizona registered three goals in the middle frame pushing them to a two point lead at the end of the second period. Sebastien Geoffrion collected the Sundogs' first goal of the night 9:26 into the period and 1:04 later Kevin Baker scored, extending his goal streak to three games. Jason Morgan took advantage of their power play after Mike Salekin was accessed two minutes for handling the puck. Cody Purves, McCready, Ryd and Kyrzakos all tallied assists.
The Brahmas scored two unanswered goals in the third period equalizing the game. Calin Wild scored just 19 seconds into regulation and eight minutes later Eric Satim scored again for the Brahmas tying the game. Neither team would be able to break the tie in regulation forcing them into overtime and subsequently a five-round shootout. Morgan was the only Sundog to score in the shootout and Tomas Klempa would register the game-winning goal.
Adam Russo took the loss for the Sundogs making 22 saves. Ft. Worth outshot the Sundogs 26-21. Arizona was 1-5 on the power play and Ft. Worth was 1-6 on the power play. The Sundogs were able to pick-up a point in the standings keeping them in seventh place with 59 points. Arizona meets Ft. Worth again tomorrow night at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
