Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs are trying to keep the less fortunate warm this winter. Over the weekend, the Sundogs used their two games against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees as a means to collect donated coats for charity.

"The 'Warmth for Winter' project is something we talked about back in the summer, and it went very well for us," said Sundogs General Manager Chris Presson. "The community did a wonderful job of donating the coats. This weekend kicks off the holiday season, but also you see a lot of charity efforts start and we wanted to be involved."

With the help of the Daily Courier newspaper, nearly 100 coats were collected on Friday and Saturday as fans could drop their coats in bins located around the entrances to Tim's Toyota Center. New and gently used coats were donated. The Sundogs will transport the coats to a local organization so they can be distributed throughout the area as the temperature is starting to drop around northern Arizona.

The Sundogs would like to thank the support of the Daily Courier and those that donated to the cause with the start of the holiday season.

The Arizona Sundogs are the Central Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Their sixth season is brought to you by Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel and the team will also host the 2012 CHL All-Star Game in January. Season tickets, mini-plan, and single-game ticket information is now available by calling (928) 759-6600 or visiting arizonasundogs.com.
