Sundogs Clinch Playoff Spot
March 19, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Arizona Sundogs News Release
Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs announced Tuesday evening that they have clinched a spot in the 2012-13 Central Hockley League Playoffs.
On the heels of Bloomington Blaze's loss against the Missouri Mavericks Tuesday night, the Sundogs secured their playoff spot. It is yet to be determined which team the Sundogs will face in the opening round and when, though their first home game at Tim's Toyota Center is set to take place during the first week of April.
This will be the first time the Sundogs have advanced to the playoff round since 2010-11 when they were defeated by the 2011 President's Cup Champions, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. Coincidentally both their current Head Coach Scott Muscutt and veteran, Jeff Kyrzakos were part of the Mudbugs championship team.
The Sundogs' record thus far is 29-27-7, with 65 points in the league standings, with three additional games to play in their regular season. Arizona hosts the Ft. Worth Brahmas in a three-game series, beginning Wednesday at 6:05pm. Both teams will go head-to-head again on Friday and Saturday night.
Playoff tickets will be available for purchase beginning Friday, March 22nd at 10:00am at Tim's Toyota Center's Box Office or by contacting a Sundogs Sales Representative for groups of 25 or more. Current Season Ticket Holders may purchase a 12-game Playoff Package or purchase round-by-round.
The Arizona Sundogs are the Central Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Season tickets, mini-plan, and single-game ticket information is now available by calling (928) 759-6600 or visiting arizonasundogs.com.
