Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - Looking to extend their road winning streak to four games in the first of six straight away from Tim's Toyota Center, the Arizona Sundogs fell 2-1 in a shootout to the Laredo Bucks Thursday night at Laredo Energy Arena.

The Sundogs held a 1-0 lead over the Bucks late in the contest before Daniel Koger tied the game at one with his team-leading 12th goal of the season with just over five minutes remaining in regulation.

After a scoreless overtime in which Arizona outshot Laredo by a 6-1 margin, the Bucks' Jeff Bes was the lone skater to tally in the shootout, converting in the fourth round and collecting his second point of the contest.

In spite of the setback, Arizona has earned points in seven of its last nine contests and moves into a tie for seventh place in the Berry Conference with the Odessa Jackalopes and sits just three points back of fourth place.

Kyle Hood opened scoring in the contest with his first goal and 11th point of the season, pushing a Billy Bezeau rebound past Pier Pelletier from the slot 12:26 into the opening frame. Bezeau picked up his third assist in two games, blasting a shot on net that found its way onto the stick of Hood after Pelletier couldn't control the rebound.

Levente Szuper turned away 29 of 30 shots in 65 minutes of action and three of four skaters in the shootout for his second shootout loss of the season. Despite the loss, Szuper continues the climb the goaltending charts and now ranks third in the league in both save percentage (.935) and goals against average (2.22).

Arizona (6-9-3) continues a six-game road trip tomorrow against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 6:30pm (Arizona time). Listen to the game live online at www.cattlecountryradio.com and on KDDL 'Cattle Country' 94.3FM, the Official Radio Home of Arizona Sundogs Hockey.
