
Bucks Comeback for Shootout Win

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Arizona Sundogs 2-1 in a shootout Thursday night at Laredo Energy Arena. The Bucks improve to 7-8-3 (17 points) on the season and move to within one point of Mississippi and Rio Grande Valley for fourth place in the Berry Conference.
Jeff Bes scored the game-winning goal in the shootout while Pier Pelletier stopped 26 of 27 shots as well as setting aside all five of Arizona's shootout attempts.
The Bucks have earned points in five straight games (3-0-2).
Daniel Koger tied the game at 1-1 with just 5:19 left in the third period when he stuffed in a rebound from the slot to score his team-leading 12th of the season.
The Bucks won their first game this season when trailing after two periods (1-7-1).
The Sundogs (6-9-3, 15 points) would jump out in front of the Bucks at the 12:26 mark of the first when Kyle Hood re-directed a pass in front of the net to score his first of the season. Arizona's goal came on just their third shot of the contest.
The Bucks (4-5-1 at home) outshot the Sundogs 12-5 in the first period.
Neither team was able to score in the second period giving the Sundogs a 1-0 edge after 40 minutes of play. The Bucks were held scoreless after two periods for the first time this season.
Laredo outshot Arizona 11-9 in the second period.
The Bucks were outshot 7-6 in the third period and 6-1 in overtime but outshot Arizona in the game 31-27.
Levente Szuper stopped 29 of 30 shots he faced for the Sundogs.
The Bucks will take to the road this weekend playing at Odessa Friday night and in Allen on Saturday evening
