Tucson Sugar Skulls News Release
TUCSON - The Tucson Sugar Skulls have officially re-signed defensive back Rashie Hodge Jr. for the 2023 IFL season.
Rashie Hodge Jr. (5'11", 215, University of Arizona) will be entering his second season with the Sugar Skulls and in the IFL.
He appeared in one game last season for the Sugar Skulls, making his impact felt right from the start. In his team debut against the Iowa Barnstormers, the rookie defensive back recorded 7 tackles (6 solo) in the home finale at the Boneyard.
The former Arizona Wildcat appeared in all 12 games for the Wildcats in 2021 and recorded 4.5 tackles for loss which was 5th on the team that season.
Head Coach Hurtis Chinn on Hodge Jr. returning: "We're extremely excited to have Rashie back as a Sugar Skull." We feel he's an asset with what he can bring to our defense. He came late in the season last year and was not placed properly due to some injuries, but we see him as a key component and impact player on our defense."
