MONCTON - Mika Cyr scored 58 seconds into overtime to give the Moncton Wildcats a 4-3 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs, Sunday at the Moncton Coliseum.

Brady Pataki had two goals for Moncton (8-1-2-0) while Julien Tessier added one.

Cedric Pare responded with two goals for Saint John (3-6-2-0) while Robbie Burt netted his first QMJHL goal. Daniel Hardie chipped in with two assists.

A scoring summary is available HERE [http://theqmjhl.ca/gamecentre/25994/boxscore].

The Wildcats opened the scoring on the game's first shift when Pataki finished off a cross-crease feed from Dylan Seitz only 37 seconds in.

The Sea Dogs countered with five minutes to go in the period with a goal from one of their newest forwards.

Saint John created a turnover in the Moncton zone. Joe Veleno grabbed the puck on the left side and fed a pass to Burt at the right wing side of the crease. The native of Hillsburgh, Ontario, redirected the puck inside the post for his first QMJHL goal.

The teams kept a brisk pace in the second period, but were held off the scoreboard by goalies Matt Williams of the Sea Dogs, who was making his first QMJHL start, and Mark Grametbauer of the Wildcats.

Moncton took the lead again 97 seconds into the third period when a Seitz pass from the left side deflected in front of the crease to Pataki, who tapped the puck into an open net.

Pare even the score on the next shift.

Anthony Boucher carried the puck up the left wing and slid a short pass to Safin. The Czech forward sent the puck to his right to Pare in the high slot. The Boston Bruins' prospect whipped a quick wrist shot past Grametbauer's glove.

Pare's second of the night gave Saint John its first lead. It came four minutes later on the power play.

Radim Salda ripped a wrist shot from the middle of the point that Pare deflected past Grametbauer to make it 3-2.

Moncton tied the game again, on the man advantage, nearly nine minutes into the third when Tessier potted the rebound of a shot from the left point.

Williams kept the tie score intact late in the third when Jakob Pelletier raced in on a breakaway and was denied. Williams also used his right leg to stone Cyr on a rebound chance.

Cyr got his revenge with the winning goal 58 seconds into 3-on-3 overtime.

Jeremy McKenna threw a pass from the left side to the low slot where Cyr, the league's leading scorer, deked to his forehand and beat a sprawling Williams on his blocker side.

Grametbauer earned the win with 32 stops. Williams made 25 saves in the loss.

Pataki and Pare took first- and second-stars, respectively, with their two-goal games. Seitz snared third star with a two-assist performance in front of 4,342 fans in attendance.
