Unfortunately for IronBirds fans, it was recent business as usual on Monday night. The IronBirds (5-15) were swept at home by New Jersey (10-11) after a 5-0 loss at Ripken Stadium in front of 6,327.
The IronBirds could only muster 6 hits, 3 from Francisco Guerrero. Aberdeen found themselves in a 2-0 hole before they came to bat after a 2-run homer in the top of the 1st.
Moises Hernandez started, picked up the loss and fell to 0-2 on the season. He threw 5 innings and allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits and 4 hits. New Jersey added single runs in the 5th, 7th and 9th innings.
Mark Fleisher continued his hot hitting with 2 more hits, raising his season average to .328.
After the season's first off day on Tuesday, the IronBirds will welcome Staten Island to Aberdeen for 3 games.
