
Strong Pitching, Timely Hitting Lead Swamp Bats to 4-1 Win in Game One

Keene Swamp Bats News Release
The Keene Swamp Bats started off their playoff run on the right foot Monday night with a 4-1 at Goodall Park over the Sanford Mainers.
Keene leads the series 1-0 and is now 4-0 at Goodall Park this season.
Brady Sheetz (Harford) got things started right away for the Swamp Bats with a leadoff double into the left centerfield gap. He moved to third on a flyout to center and scored on a sac fly to center by Robbie Coman (Virginia).
Zach Lauricella (St. John's) delivered another leadoff double in the top of the fourth and the Swamp Bats would soon load the bases with nobody out. Bret Dennis (St. John's) grounded into a double play that scored Lauricella and made it 2-0 Keene.
After the first two batters reached for the Swamp Bats in the fifth, it was second and third with two outs for Lauricella who doubled to left to score both runners and give the Swamp Bats a 4-0 lead.
The Mainers would plate their only run of the night in the home half of the fifth with back-to-back doubles from Matt Pagano (Marist) and Dan Hetzel (Rhode Island).
Matt Blandino (Central Conn State) got the win for Keene, working the first five innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out a pair.
Matt Clancy (St. John's) pitched 2.2 innings of excellent relief for the Swamp Bats and Ben Criscuolo (Southern NH) got the final four outs to notch the save.
Nicholas Poore (Boston College) was dealt the loss for the Mainers allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits, walking one and fanning six.
Keene will go for the sweep tomorrow night at 6:30 at Alumni Field when they host the Mainers in Game Two.
