Strong Night by Mocahbee Ignites Jackals 9-3 Victory

In the second game of a three game series, the New Jersey Jackals beat the Rockland Boulders 9-3 at Yogi Berra Stadium on Wednesday night.

The game got off to an inauspicious start, with the first run of the contest not coming until Rockland designated hitter Marcus Nidiffer's solo home run to left field in the top of the second inning. Not to be outdone, Jackals catcher Andy Mocahbee hit a three run shot over that same left field fence off of Ari Kaufman in the bottom half of the second to give New Jersey a 3-1 lead.

Seth Spivey's triple into the right center gap in the bottom of the third scored Jordan Hinshaw and David Harris to extend the Jackals' advantage to four runs. Spivey would come in and score on a groundout by Danny Canela before the inning came to and end.

Nidiffer's second home run off of Dylan Brammer came in the fourth inning and cut the deficit back down to four runs, but a wild pitch allowed Rony Cabrera to cross home and take back that run in the home half of the frame.

After a scoreless fifth inning for both sides, Cody Regis notched his team's fourth hit and its third solo home run of the day to make the score 7-3. In the bottom half of that sixth inning, Frank Moscatiello replaced Kaufman and gave up another Cabrera run.

The Jackals countered with a pitching change of their own, as Evan Deluca replaced Brammer after six innings of work.

In the final third of the game, Mocahbee earned his fourth RBI with his double off Tommy Lawrence that drove in Canela to make the score 9-3 in favor of New Jersey.

That's where the final score would settle, as Tyler Levine pitched a scoreless final frame in his Jackal debut.

The series wraps up tomorrow night with a 7:05 matchup in Ltitle Falls, New Jersey.
