"Having reached the Final Four in our inaugural season, we've got our eye on the Championship this year," stated Darren Cioffi, co-owner of the Strong Island Sound. "After hosting extensive tryouts over the summer, I'm confident that we've assembled a team ready to accomplish this primary objective. We're fortunate to be in an area filled with so many professional-level basketball players, including returning stars Gary Williams of Bayshore and Mike Campbell of Brooklyn. We look forward to providing basketball fans on Long Island with an exciting level of team-concept basketball that is lacking in the metro area's other professional basketball team."
The Sound opens its season on Saturday, November 4th with an away game against the Baltimore Pearls. The team's first home game is Friday, November 10th at 7:30pm against the Brooklyn Wonders. All of the Sound's home games will be played at Suffolk Community College's Selden Campus. Tickets are available online at www.strongislandsound.com.
Founded in 2004 by co-owners Darren Cioffi and Michele Wuestman, the Strong Island Sound bring high energy and intensity, as well as entertaining basketball to the arena every game night.
