San Diego Strike Force News Release
SAN DIEGO, California - The Strike Force have signed linebacker and defensive back Tyrell Robinson to their 2020 Indoor Football League roster.
Robinson (6-4, 230, Fresno State University) joins San Diego for his first season as a member of the Strike Force. Prior to the IFL, Tyrell spent time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League and the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League.
"Tyrell is a long, versatile athlete with the ability to play downhill against the run game or cover ground in the defensive secondary," said Strike Force General Manager Ryan Eucker. "With the experience he's gained the past few years, we're excited to see what he can bring to our defense in the IFL."
The San Diego native began his collegiate career at the University of Oregon where he saw action in nine games and recorded 12 tackles as a true freshman. He then transferred and finished his collegiate eligibility at Fresno State University.
Coming out of Lincoln High School, the dual sport athlete was ranked 85th on the list of nations top elite as the fifth-best outside linebacker due to his athletic skills. Robinson competed in the 2013 Semper Fidelis All-American game, was named to the Cal-Hi All-State First Team, earned a 2012 San Diego Section Defensive Player of the Year and All-League First-Team. He also played basketball for Lincoln and was named 2012 Cal-Hi All-State Grid-Hoop Team and Second Team All-San Diego Section.
