
Strike Force Sign Former Sun Devil Linebacker

San Diego Strike Force News Release
The San Diego Strike Force have signed linebacker Merlin Robertson to their 2025 Indoor Football League roster.
Robertson (6-2, 235, Arizona State) will enter his rookie IFL season in San Diego after completing his collegiate career at Arizona State University. As a Sun Devil, he saw action in 53 total games and was a pillar of consistency as he averaged 74 tackles his four complete years at linebacker.
In total, Merlin racked up 320 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, six interceptions, 12 pass deflections, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries as a Sun Devil.
He was named a captain for his team for his senior year in 2022 while also being named to the Butkus Award Watch List and as an honorable mention linebacker in the Pac-12 Conference.
Before ASU, Merlin was a consensus four-star prospect among all major recruiting services and was tabbed as the No. 8 outside linebacker in the country by 24/7, the No. 11 linebacker by Rivals, and the No. 5 inside linebacker by ESPN. He was a four-year starter at Junipero Serra High School in Carson, California where he totaled 377 tackles, 54 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks, and eight forced fumbles.
