
Strike Force Sign Defensive Tackle Wright

SAN DIEGO, California - The Strike Force have signed defensive tackle Manuel "Manny" Wright Sr. to their 2020 Indoor Football League roster.
Wright (6-7, 335, University of Southern California) joins San Diego for his first season as a member of the San Diego Strike Force. Wright was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the NFL's supplemental draft in 2005 before spending time with the Buffalo Bills (2007) and then playing for the New York Giants (2007). He earned himself a ring with the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. During his era in the NFL, the California native played in 16 games and started three as he recorded six tackles with one pass deflection.
"Manny has competed, and won, at the highest levels of collegiate and professional football," said Strike Force General Manager Ryan Eucker. "We're looking forward to adding his experience to our team in 2020 and expect him to be a big contributor in helping us to develop our younger players."
From 2003 to 2004, Wright attended USC where he made an appeared in 20 games and recorded 31 total tackles, five pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries. The two-time National Champion was awarded the All-Pac10 Honorable Mention for his efforts during his time at USC. Wright played his prep career at Long Beach Polytechnic High School where he recorded 237 tackles (117 solos), 41 sacks, four fumble recoveries (three forced fumbles) and 20 pass deflections during his junior and senior year.
