Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal, Jan. 5, 2006 - The Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp and Head Coach Don Matthews announced today that Kevin Strasser and Steve McAdoo will both be back with the Alouettes in 2006 as co-offensive coordinators. Strasser will be in charge of the passing game while McAdoo will be responsible for the running game.
Over the past three seasons, Strasser has shared the offensive coordinator post with the new Winnipeg Blue Bombers' head coach Doug Berry. He begins his fifth season with the Alouettes. Over the last four seasons, Strasser's receivers have established themselves as the most productive in the CFL and have set numerous team and league records.
McAdoo can be proud of an offensive line that helped quarterback Anthony Calvillo to become just the sixth passer in league history to break the 6,000-yard mark in 2004. In 2005, his unit helped running back Robert Edwards become the first Alouette to rush for over 1,000 yards since 2002.
The 2006 edition of the Alouettes' coaching staff will remain essentially unchanged with Defensive Coordinator Chris Jones and Special Teams and Defensive Backs Coach Noel Thorpe both returning. Other announcements will follow.
