Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm is extremely proud to announce that Storm OL Bruce McCaleb has been named to the ALL-IFL 1st Team. Joining McCaleb with an All-IFL selection was DL Cory Johnsen who was named to the All-IFL 2nd team.

McCaleb had a very successful year with the Storm. 2009 was McCaleb?s first year with the team and he did not disappoint. McCaleb anchored an offensive line that allowed a mere 12 sacks on the season. He helped the QB Terrance Bryant and the Storm Offense to 3rd ranked scoring offense, which put up over 50 points a game.

Storm RB Sean Treasure can thank McCaleb and the rest of the offensive line for helping him to a Storm single season rushing record of 812 yards. The Storm rushed for almost four yards a carry and 74.4 yards a game in 2009.

Storm DL Cory Johnsen also had another standout season. Johnsen, who led the UIF in sacks in 2008 with 9, improved his sack total this year to 11.5, which is good for a tie for fourth most in the IFL in 2009. The Defensive Lineman finished with 39 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a safety.

Johnsen, a four-year veteran, anchored a stout defensive line that ended 2009 with 41 sacks which was tied for most in the IFL. They allowed a mere 52.9 yards on the ground per game.

The Storm would like to congratulate Bruce McCaleb and Cory Johnsen for their All-IFL selections and for a great 2009 season.
