Wild Lead League in All-IFL Selections

On Wednesday, the Indoor Football League (IFL) continued to announce post-season awards. The league recognized the First and Second Team All-IFL selections with 36 players from throughout the league honored. The Wichita Wild and Billings Outlaws tied for the most selections with five. Wichita landed three players on the First Team and two players on the Second Team.

Darius Fudge was unanimously selected as the First Team running back. The IFL Offensive Rookie of the Year led the league in rushing yards with 936 and rushing touchdowns with 31. Wild wide receiver Clinton Solomon was also named to the First Team. Solomon finished fourth in the IFL in receiving yards with 1,008 and fourth in the league in receiving TD?s with 22. The final Wild player selected to the First Team was linebacker Lamont Reid. Reid finished the season tied for seventh in the IFL in tackles with 68.5. Reid led the Wild to the sixth best defense in the league allowing only 36.6 points per game.

On the All-IFL Second Team was offensive lineman Charlston Gray. Gray paved the way for Darius Fudge all season long and helped Fudge set numerous league and team records. Wild kick returner Randy Kelly was also named to the Second Team. Kelly scored four touchdowns on kick returns and tied for the league lead in average return yardage with 21.2 yards per return.

The Wild will continue their quest for the United Bowl trophy on Saturday, July 18 as they head to Bloomington in the first round of the IFL Playoffs. The game can be heard on 1330 AM KNSS with pre-game action starting at 6:45 PM and kickoff scheduled for 7:05.
