Tri-City Storm News Release

KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League completed its three-day tryout camp in Bloomington, Minn. on Sunday after watching 71 players compete for 25 spots on the 2006-07 Storm protected list.

Following the completion of two All-Star games yesterday afternoon the Storm coaching staff narrowed the roster to 31 players. Although not completely disclosed at this time, the roster includes 16 forwards, 12 defensemen and three goaltenders.

The nine veteran players on the Storm's protected list heading into tryout camp still remain on the protected list. Those veteran players include Matt Ambroz, Greg Battani, David Brownschidle, Cameron Cooper, Mario Lamoureux, Tristin Llewellyn, Michael Pilot, Sean Wiles and Jordan Willert.

The Storm coaching staff now has until the July 1st deadline to narrow their protected list down to 25.

"Overall it was a very good camp. The veterans performed well and our drafted players looked good," said Storm head coach and general manager, Bliss Littler. "We have a couple very tough decisions to make in the next month."

Littler also said that forward Patrick White, a high school senior and University of Minnesota recruit, agreed to play in Tri-City both before and after his high school hockey season.

"Patrick was a futures pick of ours and he had a great camp. He is currently listed third for the 2007 NHL draft and we are excited to have him for some where between 25-30 games this season," Littler said.
