Cam Briere scored the Storm's only goal during the contest in the final minute of regulation time to secure one point in the standings for the team, and a berth in this year's postseason tournament. Tri-City will now play three of its final four games of this year's sixty-two-game regular season on home ice at the Viaero Center, including both games against Sioux Falls this weekend. The series is a preview of one potential opening-round opponent for the Storm. The Stampede has not traveled to the Viaero Center since dropping a 4-1 decision against the Storm on October 20th, 2023. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering the final two weekends of the regular season include Trevor Connelly (27), Ryan Smith (23), Cam Briere (21), Artemi Nizameyev (15), August Falloon (15), and A.J. Lacroix (15).

The Stampede dropped seven of eight games played against the Storm last season, and have won just four of their last sixteen games played in Kearney. Sioux Falls will play four of its last five games on the road, including this weekend's series against Tri-City. The Stampede's last contest was a 5-1 road loss to the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box on Friday, March 29th, 2024. Sioux Falls' only goal of the battle was netted during the 3rd period on the powerplay by Tyler Borgula.
