
Storm season begins Friday

KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League will begin the 2007-08 regular season schedule with a pair of road games this weekend, stopping in Omaha Friday and Des Moines on Saturday.
The Storm's regular season, which will be the team's eighth in Kearney, features 30 road games and 30 home games that will be played at the FirsTier Event Center in Kearney. The team's home schedule will begin on Oct. 12 when the team hosts the defending Anderson Cup champion, Waterloo Black Hawks.
The Storm, who went 3-1 in exhibition games this fall, will begin with a game against I-80 rival Omaha. The Lancers won the USHL's Fall Classic last weekend, outscoring their opponents 15-1.
The Storm, who recently trimmed their roster to 23, enter the year with eight returning players including Cameron Cooper, Kyle Ensign, Alex Hudson, Mario Lamoureux, Ryan Peltoma, Aaron Rock, Jordan VanGilder and Jordan Willert.

CHANGE TO WEEKEND BROADCAST SCHEDULE
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League along with radio partner "The Breeze 94.5 FM" announced today that Saturday's Storm game against Des Moines will be broadcast on its sister station Power 99 FM beginning at 6:40 p.m.
Friday's game against Omaha will be on The Breeze 94.5 FM and will begin at 6:45 p.m. This will be the station's first broadcast as the Storm's new radio home. Saturday's game is being moved to Power 99 FM due to conflicts with the Nebraska versus Missouri football game.
The Breeze 94.5 FM is the official home and away voice of Storm hockey this season. All Storm games will be called by veteran broadcaster John Meissner.
