Tri-City Storm News Release

KEARNEY - Nebraska's Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League has traded team captain Danny Heath to the Des Moines Buccaneers for Josh Myers and Andrew Panzarella. Heath played in one game for the Storm last year as he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the 2008-2009 season opener.

Myers is a 5'11", 185 lb forward from Colorado Springs, CO. Myers appeared in 52 games for the Buccaneers last year and recorded six goals and 13 assists for 19 points. Panzarella is a 6'1", 190 lb defenseman from Columbia, MD. Panzarella played in 29 games last season and recorded 7 points off of two goals and five assists. The Tri-City Storm also has released their protected list for the 2009-2010 season. Fans should see a few familiar faces returning to Kearney this fall. Returning for another season with the Storm are Anthony DeCenzo, Josh Berge, Torin Snydeman, Radoslav Illo, Rick Pinkston and Charlie Dodero.

The 2009 USHL Entry Draft also produced a number of players for the Storm. Justin Demartino, the Storm's #1 draft pick, leads a highly touted draft class into the 2009-2010 season. Joining Demartino are fellow draftees Blake Coleman, Carsen Chubak, Mitch Hughes, Tyler Pistone and Max Tardy. Also on the protected list is forward Jaden Schwartz. Schwartz is projected to be a top ten NHL pick in next year's draft.

The Storm also made a couple of off-season trades to bring some more USHL experience to the Storm. The Storm has picked up six players who were playing in the USHL last season. Joining the Storm this season are Nate Jensen (Cedar Rapids), Matt Kinman (Sioux City), Mike Montrose (Waterloo), Cody Murphy (Cedar Rapids), Josh Myers (Des Moines) and Andrew Panzarella (Des Moines). Four out of the six are defenseman. The two forwards are Josh Myers and Chris Murphy.

Season tickets are on sale now for the 10th anniversary season-the most anticipated season since the first year. For further information, please contact the Storm office at (308) 338-8809.
