April 16, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm (5-1) will be on the road again this weekend traveling to Wichita to take on the Wild (5-1). The two teams will face off for their third and final meeting of the regular season at 7:05PM Saturday, April 17, at Hartman Arena.
The team that comes out of this match up victorious will hold the tie breaker if both teams finish the season with the same record. Sioux Falls will be headed to Wichita with payback in mind. The Wild gave the Storm a rare home loss at the Storm Shelter last time the two teams met.
"I am excited for such a big game and the chance to play another quality team," said Coach Riggs.
The Wild are coming off a 56-50 victory over the Omaha Beef. The win wasn't a pretty one with the Wild ending the night with nine penalties. The game was tied at 50 until late in the 4th quarter when Wichita safety, Dona Moore, knocked the ball loose from an Omaha receiver. Wild running back, Darius Pudge sealed the deal with a five-yard touchdown run.
Sioux Falls is coming off a very convincing 57-23 win over the Sioux City Bandits. James Jones finished the night with 84 yards rushing on 15 carries with 2 touchdowns. Lorenzo Brown stepped in late in the game and came up with 27 yards and 2 touchdowns. The upfront blocking by the Storm offensive line was impressive to say the least. Quarterback, Terrance Bryant, completed 15 of 21 passes for 161 yards and 3 touchdowns. His two favorite targets for the night were Dusty Havorka and James Terry. The "Thunder Defense" came up with two picks on the night, and only allowed the Bandits 3 points in entire second half. Blackburn lead in tackled with 6.5.
Storm fans that won't be making the long trip to Wichita are invited to Champps to catch the game live and cheer on the Storm with other fans. The game will be broadcast on KOOL 107.9 and streaming at www.siouxfallsstorm.com.
