Community Appearances Kickoff Rivalry Weekend In Kent

Kent, WA: A team is only as successful as the community that supports it. The Kent Predators organization, since its inception, has made it a goal to give back to their supporters in any way possible. This Saturday, the team will be doing just that with a combination of community appearances this Saturday.

First, members of the Predators will be on hand at the Auburn Valley YMCA, located at 1620 Perimeter Rd. SW, in Auburn, from 10 am-1pm for National Healthy Kids Day. Players and staff will be manning a table at the event, playing catch with some of the local youth in attendance and signing autographs for fans. The goal of the event is to promote healthy lifestyles and wellness for area youth. It will feature will feature over 60 different activities for kids, plus health and wellness resources for families. Also, an Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run competition is being held for ages 7 through 14.

Later that evening, the team will be eating at Kent Station Plaza from 6pm-8pm signing autographs, giving away prizes and game tickets, and will be hosting some Predators Trivia. The team hopes to promote their home contest for Sunday afternoon against divisional rival the Tri-Cities Fever. In the two team's first meeting back on March 27th, the Predators notched their first victory in team history with a 55-49 win in Tri-Cities.

The Fever are coming off their first win as members of the Indoor Football League last weekend as they defeated the Fairbanks Grizzlies by a score of 44-39. Tri-Cities is led a Quarterback by Andy Collins who has thrown for 16 touchdowns against only four interceptions so far this season. Defensively Montavis Pitts, the Week 7 VidSwap.com Defensive Player of the Week, has given opposing Quarterbacks fits with his ability to jump routes. The defensive back has two interceptions thus far, one of which he returned for a touchdown, and is among the league leaders in tackles.

The Predators are riding a two game winning streak after defeating the Alaska Wild last weekend for their first home victory in team history. Quarterback Charles McCullum continued his torrid pace on the record books as he torched the Wild for four touchdowns through the air in addition to his four on the ground. The Fever may also have to key on Kick Returner and Defensive Back Dre' Mail Hardin, the reigning VidSwap.com Special Teams Player of the Week. The dynamic return man broke through a seam with 13 seconds left and his team down by one point to give the Predators a victory last weekend.

Kickoff for this Sunday is 3:00 pm at the ShoWare Center in Kent. Tickets are still available, but are running out fast! They can be purchased by logging on to the Predators website at www.kentpredators.com . Discounts are available for groups of ten or more by calling the team office at 253-239-3254. Tickets will also be available for purchase the day of the game at the ShoWare Center ticket window.
