
Storm garners top spot in preseason poll

KEARNEY â The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League learned Wednesday that the U.S. Hockey News has ranked the team first among the USHL's 11 teams heading into the 2004-05 season.
The Storm, who finished the 2004 Buc Bowl preseason tournament with a 3-0 record last weekend, returns six players from last season Anderson Cup championship team.
The Storm's western division foe Omaha is second while Chicago is third and 2004 Clark Cup champion Waterloo is fourth.
The Storm, who finished with a 43-12-5 record a year ago, was ranked eighth in the same preseason poll last season.
