The New Jersey Storm dropped a close National Lacrosse League game to division rival the Philadelphia Wings 16-15 tonight in front of 7,037 fans at the Continental Airlines Arena. It was the fourth straight loss for New Jersey.

Leading the way for the Storm tonight was newly acquired forward Mike Ladouceur with five points (3G, 2A). Joining Ladouceur in the scoring column was defenseman Bobby Horsey, scoring a hat trick (3G, 1A).

Forward Tony Henderson (4G, 2A) led the Wings in scoring with a six-point performance. In addition forward Tom Marechek (2G, 4A) chipped in a six-point effort, including the game-winning shorthanded goal with 1:56 of the final quarter.

Standing in between the pipes for the Storm were both Derek General who stopped 12 shots and allowed eight goals before being replaced at 3:29 of the second quarter by back-up goaltender Chris Sanderson, turning away 22 shots while giving up eight goals as well.

Wings net minder Dallas Eliuk continued his dominant ways, holding the Storm offense to 15 goals with 38 saves, including two crucial saves in the last 45 seconds of the fourth quarter to hold the Storm.

The Storm will return to action this Saturday when they travel to Denver and the Pepsi Center for an NLL Eastern Division match-up against the Colorado Mammoth at 9:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. Mountain Time).

With the loss, New Jersey drops to 2-5 on the season and falls into third place in the Eastern Division behind Philadelphia and the Colorado.

Last season (as the Washington Power) New Jersey split its two games by dropping a 21-9 road contest on December 15, 2002 in Washington before getting the equalizer on February 15, 2002 with a 15-8 victory at the Meadowlands.
