Colorado Mammoth News Release

Albany, NY - The Colorado Mammoth's road woes continued tonight with a 20 -12 loss to the New York Saints at Nassau Coliseum.

The loss marked the third road loss of the year for the Mammoth - a team that has yet to win on the road, and yet to lose at home. It was the first win of the season for the Saints. The Mammoth retains its place at the top of the National Lacrosse League's Eastern Division, falling to a season record of 3-3.

In spite of three goals each from Gary Gait, Del Halladay and Brian Langtry, the Mammoth never led in the game. The Saints scored first and the Mammoth was down 5-3 at the end of the first quarter. Goalie Erik Miller was replaced by Tom Still in the first quarter. The Mammoth scored 4 goals to the Saints' 5 in the second quarter; the Mammoth 3, Saints 2 in the third and Mammoth 2, Saints 7 in the fourth quarter.

"We just weren't in the game and they got hot," said Steve Govett, general manager.

Also scoring for the Mammoth were Al Truant, Tom Phair and Ben Prepchuk. It was Prepchuk's first goal since being acquired by the Mammoth in a trade from the Saints.

Scoring assists were Ted Dowling (3), Matt Ogelsby, Phair, John Rosa and Josh Sims.
