New Jersey Storm News Release

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – First-year New Jersey Storm forward Marc Morley has been named to the National Lacrosse League's 2002-2003 All-Rookie Team, it was announced today. Morley played in eleven games for the Storm this year amassing 20 goals and 9 assists, while picking up 35 loose balls. His 20 goals placed Morley third on the Storm team, while 29 points was fourth on the club. The Hoboken, New Jersey resident was drafted by the Albany Attack in the third round of the 2002 Entry Draft and was subsequently traded to New Jersey for a third round pick in the 2003 Entry Draft. Collegiately, Morley was an All-American and First Team All-League performer at the University of Massachusetts.

"Once Marc got accustomed to the indoor game he really took off and became one of the best rookies in the League in the last several years," said Storm General Manager Jim Brady. "As he continues to develop, we expect Marc to become one of the top players in the NLL."

The 23-year old southpaw joins Rookie of the Year Brian Langtry (28 G, 34 A – Colorado), Lewis Ratcliff (24 G, 21 A – Calgary), Chris Schiller (16 G, 8 A – Rochester), Cam Sedgwick (16 G, 32 A – Vancouver), and Aaron Wilson (21 G, 16 A – Toronto) on the All-Rookie Team. The team is comprised of the top six vote-getters for the League's Rookie of the Year award. The NLL's Governors, General Managers, and Coaches vote on the League's post-season honors.

New Jersey (3-13) recently finished its second season in the 18-year old indoor National Lacrosse League. The Storm recently made headlines when goaltender Ginny Capicchioni became the first woman to play in an NLL game or that of any major men's professional sport in the United States. The team plays its home games at the Continental Airlines Arena in the Meadowlands. For more information about the New Jersey Storm call 1-866-NJ STORM or log onto njstorm.com.
