Uniondale, NY-The New Jersey Storm (3-12) dropped a 13-11 game to their Eastern Division rival the New York Saints (3-13) tonight at the Nassau Coliseum. In doing so, the teams split the season series. New Jersey trailed 11-4 in the third quarter before going on a 7-1 run to get within 12-11, but New York took advantage of a two-man advantage in the final two minutes to score twice and prevail.
Leading the Storm's offensive surge was forwards Mike Ladouceur (3G, 1A) and Marc Morley (3 G, 1A).
Forward Chris Panos was tops for all Saints scorers with four goals and two assists.
Storm net minder Derek General suffered the loss despite making 25 saves, while Saints goalie Gee Nash stopped 50 Storm shots to record the victory.
The Storm wraps up the 2002-2003 season tomorrow afternoon when the club welcomes the Vancouver Ravens to Continental Airlines Arena at 1:00 p.m. Last year the Ravens won both games against the Storm to sweep the season series. Tomorrow's game is STX Fan Appreciation Day. In addition, Storm net minder Ginny Capicchioni looks to become the first professional female athlete to play in a National Lacrosse League game.
