New Jersey ends season on two-game winning streak
Ottawa-- The New Jersey Storm avenged an earlier home loss and split the season series with Ottawa as they defeated the Rebel 12-11 tonight in overtime at the Civic Centre.
Forward Scott Stewart scored the game-winner at 1:17 of the extra frame to help lift New Jersey to their second straight victory.
With the win the club finishes with a 5-11 mark and as a result ties New York for third place in the Eastern Division.
Goaltender Matt Roik picked up his fifth win of the season in net while Ottawa net minder Matt Disher suffered his eighth loss.
The New Jersey Storm finished their inaugural season on a high note, claiming victories in four of their last six contests, including a 13-11 road win over the 2001 World Champions Philadelphia Wings on February 16, 2002.
