Guelph Storm News Release
Storm announce exhibition schedule changes
The Guelph Storm Hockey Club has announced changes to the 2013-14 pre-season schedule. The game scheduled for Friday, September 6th against the Mississauga Steelheads that was to be played in Guelph has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The game in Barrie against the Colts on September 7th has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 14th.
"We appear to be a victim of our own success", GM Mike Kelly said. "With 11 of our players away at NHL camps and Marc Stevens coming down with mono, we would have 12 players unavailable to dress. After discussing the situation with the league we came to the conclusion that the welfare of the players must come first and foremost so playing with a bench of only 10 skaters would not be acceptable. We also felt the quality of the competition would suffer and not live up to OHL standards. Although we regret having to make these changes, we feel it is unavoidable and our only option."
The Storm kick off the exhibition schedule on September 1st in Mississauga for a 2:00pm start. The first home pre season game goes on Labour day Monday as the North Bay Battalion make their Sleeman Centre debut. The only other home game is Friday, September 13th when the Barrie Colts head to town.

There are 12 Sunday games, one Thursday game, one Wednesday game and the traditional Family Day Monday game at 2:00pm.
