Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm are set to open up a three game home stand Monday night at 7:05pm as they welcome the Billings Outlaws in a match of undefeated teams. First Premier is the proud sponsor of the "Clash of the Champions" which pairs up two teams that have been responsible for six championships in the past six years. Billings is the defending IFL Champion and the only team to defeat the Storm in Sioux Falls since 2005.
The 2-0 Storm opened up the season with two key divisional road wins as they defeated Omaha 54-47 and Wichita 43-34. The Storm have been lead by the usual suspects, as Terrance Bryant has returned to all IFL form throwing 41/57 for 379 yards with 6 touchdowns to only 1 int. His leading receiver has been all pro James Terry. Terry is leading the league with 18 receptions for 196 yards and 3 touchdowns. Former USF all-time leading receiver Dusty Hovorka has added 12 receptions for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sean Treasure comes in leading the league in carries with 34 touches for 118 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Storm will look to lean on its veteran defense against the very explosive Outlaw offense. Mark Blackburn and Rachman Crable will look to contain IFL MVP Chris Dixon. Dixon has been lights out in the 3 wins for the Outlaws throwing for 411 yards and 11 touchdowns against only 1 interception. His favorite target is all IFL receiver James Walton. Walton has been on the receiving end of 5 of those touchdowns. Billings also will bring IFL sack leader, Michael Bazemore, to town as he leads the league with 4.5 sacks.
"This is turning into a storied rivalry, states Storm owner Todd Tryon. "Billings has stepped up this past year to threaten our reign. We couldn't have asked for a better home opener."
