Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced the team's 25-player protected list for the 2006-07 season on Wednesday. All 12 USHL teams had until July 1 to narrow their rosters to 25 players.
The Storm's current 25-player roster includes 10 veterans from last season. The veteran players include defensemen Greg Battani, Tristin Llewellyn and Cameron Cooper, forwards Matt Ambroz, David Brownschidle, Mario Lamoureux, Michael Pilot, Sean Wiles and Jordan Willert and goaltender Aaron Rock.
Newcomers on the list include Jesse Martin, Nick Oslund and Andrew Sackrison, all NHL draft picks last weekend, along with goaltender Bryce Christianson, the Storm's top draft pick in May.
The players remaining on the list below will report to Kearney on Sept. 10 for a week of dry land training before taking the ice on Saturday, Sept. 16.
"Right now Mike, our strength coach" has to be our MVP," said Storm head coach Bliss Littler. "We have to make sure they are getting their workouts in and also start developing some relationships with the players."
