Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm has acquired forward Shane Pinto, a 2019 6th Round Phase II draft pick, and a 2019 10th Round Phase II draft pick from the Lincoln Stars in exchange for forward Michael Colella, a 2019 3rd Round Phase II draft pick, a 2020 2nd Round Phase II draft pick, and future considerations.

Shane Pinto, 18, of Franklin Square, New York has played 30 games with the Lincoln Stars during his rookie season in the USHL. Pinto is 2nd among first year players with 17 goals scored during the 2018-2019 regular season and leads rookies with 6 power play goals on the year. His lone game winning goal of the season came against the Storm in a 3-0 Lincoln Stars victory on November 11th. With today's trade, Pinto now becomes the Tri-City Storm's leading scorer with 17 goals, 15 assists, and 32 points on the season.

Last month, Pinto skated for Storm Head Coach Anthony Noreen at the 2018 World Junior A Challenge in Bonnyville, Alberta. He scored one goal and recorded one assist in six tournament games. Pinto's lone goal of the tournament came in a 7-3 USA victory over Canada East in the preliminary round of the tournament. Pinto, along with Coach Noreen, Ronnie Attard, Zac Jones, and Isaiah Saville won a Gold Medal in the event following a 2-0 shutout over Russia in the 2018 World Junior A Challenge Gold Medal Game.

Earlier this month, Pinto represented Team West in the 2019 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Lincoln. Pinto netted Team West's 4th goal of the game in the 3rd period to give the team a 4-1 lead. Team West went on to defeat Team East by a final score of 5-3. Storm defenseman Zac Jones and goaltender Isaiah Saville also skated for Team West, and Storm Head Coach Anthony Noreen served as an Assistant Coach for Team West in the game.

Along with becoming the Storm's leading scorer following the trade, Pinto is also now the team's highest rated 2019 NHL draft prospect among North American Skaters ranked by NHL Central Scouting. Earlier this week, NHL Central Scouting released its Midterm rankings for draft eligible players ahead of June's 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver. Pinto is ranked as the 35th best North American forward in Central Scouting's latest draft rankings. Storm defenseman Zac Jones is ranked 104th, and defenseman Ronnie Attard is ranked 143rd. In a sperate rank of North American Goaltenders released by NHL Central Scouting, Storm goaltender Isaiah Saville is ranked 8th. Storm affiliate list defenseman Mike Koster was also ranked 84th on Central Scouting's North American skaters list.
