Frisco RoughRiders News Release

The RoughRiders scored six runs in the eighth to tie the game before winning it in extras 7-6 on Davis Stoneburner's RBI single Sunday night from Dr Pepper Ballpark in front of 11,112 fans.

Stoneburner, who gave the 'Riders a walk-off win Thursday night against Springfield, delivered in another bases-loaded situation. Tied 6-6, Renny Osuna led off the tenth inning with a double. Jose Ruiz drew a walk and Jonathan Greene was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Stoneburner, who singled to left field to end the game.

Trailing 6-0 heading into the eighth, the 'Riders hadn't been able to crack Arkansas starter Garrett Richards. However, two walks and two fielding errors by the Travs helped fuel Frisco's furious six-run rally.

Leonys Martin drew first blood for Frisco on an RBI single that scored Engel Beltre. With one down and the bases loaded, Ruiz clubbed a bases clearing triple to make it 6-4. After an RBI groundout by Mike Bianucci, Greene blasted a game-tying solo-home run to dead center.

Richards was chased in the eighth after allowing five runs, only three earned. He only allowed one base runner to reach second base through seven innings. He finished with three strikeouts and two walks and received a no decision.

The Travelers grabbed an early lead after scoring a run in the first two innings. Gabe Jacobo drove in one on an RBI double and Mike Trout's fielder's choice extended Arkansas' lead.

After tacking on another run in the fifth, Chris Pettit blasted his first home run of the season, which was a two-run shot, to give the Travelers a 5-0 lead.

Martin Perez battled through five innings in what was a no decision. He allowed two runs, one earned, on only two hits and struck out four. However, Perez walked four and threw two wild pitches.

The Travs will look to even this three-game series Monday night as Robbie Erlin will go for Frisco and square off against Orangel Arenas. First pitch is at 6:05. Fireworks will follow the conclusion of Monday's game for a 4th of July celebration.
