Stockton Kings to Host "Costumes with the Kings" to Collect Halloween Costumes for Foster Youth

Today, the Stockton Kings - the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings - announced the first "Costumes with the Kings" event on Saturday, October 19 to collect new Halloween costumes to benefit foster youth and families in the community. In partnership with the Child Abuse Prevention Council, the costumes will go to youth who are part of their CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program.

"We are always looking for ways to positively impact the youth in our community," said Stockton Kings Vice President of Business Operations Dustin Toms. "By collecting Halloween costumes, something not often thought about when donating, we can ensure the local children in the CASA program a fun, safe Halloween."

"Many families in our community are struggling to make ends meet, and Halloween costumes do not make the list of essentials in the budget," said Child Abuse Prevention Council Program Manager of Marketing and Community Outreach Kristen Velarde. "The Stockton Kings Costume Drive helps local children participate in the fun Halloween festivities that they see other children enjoying by distributing costumes to the children who may not have otherwise been able to participate. As a community, we can bring support, joy, and holiday fun to these families."

With the help of mascot Dunkson, the Stockton Kings will host a drop-off event at Lincoln Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fans who drop off a new Halloween costume will receive a special ticket voucher for one free ticket to Stockton Kings Opening Night on November 8, as well as have the opportunity to win team swag and hang out with Stockton Kings personalities.
