North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays are proud to announce that Katie Ginther, Todd Merton and Ashley Hoffman have been promoted for the upcoming season.
Ginther, who began with the Stingrays as a sales associate in January 2007 before being promoted to Tickets Sales Manager in May 2007, will take on the position of Community Relations Manager. In addition to her current role in the ticket sales department, she will now be responsible for all player and mascot appearances and donation requests from the community. Katie will also be in charge of the different fundraising nights held throughout the season including the third annual Pink in the Rink Night and second annual Salute to Heroes Night.
As the new Director of Corporate Sales and Merchandise, Merton, who joined the Stingrays in June 2006, will oversee the Corporate Sales Department including the fulfillment of all corporate contracts. In addition, Merton will remain responsible for and will continue to run the merchandise for the team.
Hoffman, who is currently in her third season with the Stingrays, has been promoted to Director of Public and Customer Relations. She will now be responsible for the service of all season ticket accounts and season ticket holders and encouraged to contact her directly with anything they may need or questions they may have. In addition to her role in customer relations, Ashley will continue to handle all media requests, distribute team news to the community, and maintain the website.
"All three individuals are very deserving of their new positions," said President Darren Abbott. "We are fortunate to have dynamic employees that are anxious to move up within the company and in professional sports."
The Stingrays would also like to welcome Mike Richards to the front office as Group Sales Manager.
Richards joins the Stingrays from Comcast-Spectacor where he has worked the last two seasons; first as an inside sales representative with the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team before being promoted to an account executive with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
Prior to joining Comcast-Spectacor, the James Madison University graduate was responsible for inside and outside sales at J.M.S. Visual Communications in Vincentown, NJ.
As Group Sales Manager, Richards will be responsible for the group sales department including the development and execution of group theme nights throughout the season.
"We're excited to have Mike join our team," said Erik Hansen, Vice President of Sales. "His enthusiasm and experience working with groups will be an asset to this organization in its continued quest for success on and off the ice."
