South Carolina Stingrays News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays will host their first-ever Education Day Game on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 10:30 a.m. against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at the North Charleston Coliseum.
All local schools are invited to spend the morning with the Stingrays professional hockey team in a field trip atmosphere, where students will enjoy a unique educational experience while witnessing the fast-paced action of live ice hockey. Students will receive hockey-related educational materials that cover math, science, geography and more.
"We're excited to introduce a School Day Game as a new highlight on our regular season schedule," said Stingrays Senior Vice President of Sales and Sponsorships Derek Goldfarb. "This event will provide a fun learning environment for students in the Lowcountry, many of whom will be experiencing a live ice hockey game for the very first time. We hope to make this event a staple on our calendar for years to come in an effort to grow our game in South Carolina."
Although the School Day Game is geared towards school groups, Stingrays ticket holders and the general public are still welcome and encouraged to attend the day's events. Season ticket holders who are unable to attend the morning game will be able to exchange their ticket(s) for a future non-Saturday 2018-19 Stingrays regular season home game.
