
Stingrays Add Three to 2011-12 Roster

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forwards Trent Campbell, Jerry Pollastrone and Vyacheslav Trukhno.
Campbell, 28, recorded 18 goals and 20 assists for 38 points with the Stingrays last season and was tied for first on the team with a +14. The Beauval, Saskatchewan, native also saw action in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers grabbing two points (1g, 1a) in 16 games. Since joining the Stingrays as a rookie in 2007, Campbell registered 193 points (71g, 122a) in 199 games. Prior to turning pro, Campbell skated for four seasons at Lake Superior State University totaling 90 points (36g, 54a) in 153 games.
Pollastrone, 25, spent the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL netting 18 points (6g, 12a) in 61 games. Before joining the Wranglers, the Revere, Massachusetts, native attended the University of New Hampshire for four seasons scoring 97 points (34g, 63a) in 150 games.
Trukhno, 24, appeared in 51 games with the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL) last season generating 12 goals and 40 assists for 52 points. In addition to the Condors, the Khimki, Russia, native saw time in the AHL with the Peoria Rivermen under former Stingrays player, assistant coach and head coach Jared Bednar potting two points (1g, 1a) in three games. Before Bakersfield, Trukhno dressed for the Springfield Falcons (AHL) for three seasons earning a combined 87 points (33g, 54a) in 193 games. Prior to joining the professional ranks, the fourth round draft pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft competed in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for three seasons with Prince Edward Island Rocket and the Gatineau Olympiques gathering 257 points (78g, 179a) in 184 games. Trukhno's father, Leonid, played professional hockey for over 20 years in Russia and Denmark and was a two-time Danish Player of the Year. He also represented the Soviet Union in the 1983 World Junior Championships.
