(Willmar, MN) - The Willmar Stingers defeated the Duluth Huskies 7-3 at Bill Taunton Stadium on Saturday night. The Stingers were led offensively by newcomer Pat Stover who went 2 for 4 in his Stingers debut. Jake Stinnett went 1 for 3 and drove in two runs and also scored one.
The Stingers were down three runs to zero before they plated three runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to tie the game. Right hand pitcher Michael Shreves entered the game in fifth inning to relieve starting pitcher Thomas Taylor. Shreves pitched three hitless and scoreless innings to earn the victory.
The Stingers continue the home stand tomorrow night at 6:05pm to take on the Duluth Huskies. It's Father's Day presented by Rambow, Inc. The first 300 fathers will receive a Stingers t-shirt. For tickets please call 320-222-2010. The 2011 Season is presented by Charter.
