Stingers Score 20 Runs for the Fifth Time this Year

LA CROSSE, WI - The Willmar Stingers crushed the La Crosse Loggers tonight, 20-3.

The Stingers started off swinging scoring six in the tops of the first and the second innings. They would leave the third inning up 14-1. The Stingers would score once in the fifth and hit a grand slam in a five-run seventh inning before the game would end 20-3.

This would mark the fifth time this year the Stinger offense would explode scoring 20 runs. Willmar has the highest team batting average in the Northwoods League at .283 combined. The Stingers also have the second most hits and second most runs in the league.

Every Stinger in the starting lineup was able to record a hit with two-thirds getting multiple hits. The newest additions to the Stinger's lineup shined today.

Graysen Tarlow increased his hitting streak to nine games in tonight's win. Both Carson Hake and Kole Krier drove two runners home with Krier's runs coming off of a home run. Finally, Jordan Sagedahl increased his home run streak to three games with a grand slam in the seventh inning. He would finish the game going 2-4 with six RBIs and three runs.

The MinnWest Technology Campus Player of the Game was starting pitcher Logan Samuels. He got his second win of the year during his 5.1 inning, 10 strikeout performance. Samuels became a starter in the second half of the season and has been incredible on the mound for Willmar.

The Willmar Stingers will be featured on ESPN+ tomorrow as the Bismarck Larks come into two for the start of four straight home games to end the regular season. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Bill Taunton Stadium.
