Arizona Sting News Release
GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Arizona Sting General Manager and Head Coach Bob Hamley announced today that Sting defenseman Mike Grimes was claimed by the expansion Boston franchise in today's National Lacrosse League (NLL) Expansion Draft.
Grimes was the only Sting player selected by Boston in this expansion draft as no NLL team could lose more than one player. Boston drafted a total of 13 players, one from each of the current member clubs. Each NLL team could protect either 10 runners and two goalies, or 13 runners and one goalie. The Sting chose to protect 13 runners and goalie Rob Blasdell.
Grimes finished the 2007 season with one goal, three assists, 38 loose balls and 13 PIM in 11 games during his rookie year with the Sting.
