DUNEDIN, FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays are proud to name Steven Boychuk the Florida State League Scholarship winner for the 2015 baseball season. The Miami Marlins and Florida State League funded the Scholarship Program for the 16th-consecutive year.

Boychuk has been a member of the Dunedin Blue Jays staff for eight seasons, serving as official scorer and working in the public address booth. The D-Jays' music man is behind all the clapping prompts and music to enhance the fan experience at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

The Tampa Bay native also played four years of college baseball at St. Leo University and pitched in the Frontier League.

The 2015 Florida State League Scholarship winner, Boychuk, is a teacher in the Tampa Bay area and used the scholarship for continuing his education. He threw out the ceremonial first pitch on August 29th when the Dunedin Blue Jays played host to the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Additionally, all scholarship recipients were recognized at the Miami Marlins game on August 23rd.

The scholarships, with a monetary value of $1,500 each, are presented to a student employee, child or grandchild of an employee of Florida State League teams. Selection is based on grades, leadership capabilities and job performance. A total of 204 scholarships have been awarded to qualified applicants since the inception of the program.
