Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, have signed defender Stephen Basso to a contract for the 2015-16 season.

Basso, a defender who started the 2014-15 season with Ontario before returning to Rochester via a trade, became a free agent this summer after Rochester ceased operations.

"Stephen is such a strong player and leader, that when Rochester was unable to return for this season, I immediately sought Stephen out for a return to the Inland Empire," said Bernie Lilavois, the Fury's president and head coach.

During seven games with the Fury, Basso scored five goals and had six assists. He was named to the Major Arena Soccer League Team of the Week during his stint with Ontario. With Rochester, he played in 15 games, scoring three goals with one assist.

"He fit in so well with our squad during his stay here last season, and I expect that he will contribute for the team this year at both ends of the field," Lilavois said.

The Ontario Fury will open the 2015-16 season with an exhibition game against Spain's Sevilla FC at 3 p.m. Sunday Oct. 26 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tickets for the game against Sevilla - as well as the full regular season schedule -- are on sale now at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office and online at AXS.com.

Season tickets are also on sale now, which includes all 11 home games for as low as $90. For more information about season ticket packages, as well as sponsorship packages, go to OntarioFury.com or call 909-457-0252.
