Sacramento Surge News Release
The Sacramento Surge is excited to announce the re-signing of two Surge standouts from the 2014/2015 MASL season, Matt Germain and Norman LeVesque. Germain, a Sacramento Native played a key role in the midfield for the surge last season leading the team in points and goals. Germain finished the 2014/2015 season with 26 goals, and 8 assists totaling 34 points on the season. By doing so, Germain finished 31st in the country on points out of more than 500 players from coast to coast. Germain will be sure to be a force for the Surge heading into the 2015/2016 MASL season.
LeVesque, last year's captain for the Surge found himself starting the 2014/2015 MASL season in more of a defensive role, later became a key component in the Surge offense. LeVesque finished 2nd on the team in scoring and points with 15 goals, and 9 assists which placed him 74th in the country on points. LeVesque was also named to the MASL national team of the week back in February.
"We are excited to have these two players back on the team this year. Both guys work hard on and off the field and set a good example for others to follow," said, Mark Bickham, head coach of the Surge.
The Surge will be looking to sign a handful of other returning players in the near future as well as some exciting new talent which will help bolster the roster for the up-coming 2015/2016 MASL season....
