Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, has signed free agent forward Mauricio Salles for the 2015-16 Major Arena Soccer League season.

Salles was the leading scorer for the Rochester Lancers during the 2014-15 season and was voted to the All-MASL Second Team. He scored 41 goals and added 16 assists in 20 games for the Lancers, who were unable to return to the league for the upcoming season.

"To get a scorer of Mauricio's ability is going to give us the boost we need to challenge for the league title," said Fury President and Coach Bernie Lilavois. "He is a proven scorer indoors and as the captain of the Lancers, he has proven himself as a leader on and off the field."

Salles, a native of Salvador, Brazil, played the three previous seasons with the Lancers in the Major Indoor Soccer League. In the three MISL seasons, he scored 78 goals and had 41 assists in 67 games. His 97 points (using the MISL's multiple-point scoring system) in 2012-13 was good for second in the league.

"With the addition of Mauricio, the return of Stephen Basso and our returning core, I believe we will be playing deep into the postseason in our quest to bring a championship to Ontario," Lilavois said.

The Ontario Fury will open the 2015-16 season with an exhibition game against Spain's Sevilla FC at 3 p.m. Sunday Oct. 26 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tickets for the game against Sevilla - as well as the full regular season schedule -- are on sale now at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office and online at AXS.com.

Season tickets are also on sale now, which includes all 11 home games for as low as $90. For more information about season ticket packages, as well as sponsorship packages, go to OntarioFury.com or call 909-457-0252.
